I got accepted into Alpha Kappa Delta, a national (international, actually) sociological honor society. The Greek letters come from the words Anthropon Katamanthanein Diakonesin, which is Greek for "To investigate humanity for the purpose of service. " The minimum qualifications were a 3.0 overall gpa, and a 3.0 in sociology courses, and in the top 35% of my class based on overall scholarship, or something like that. I must have been qualified, because i got an email telling me I'm in!

So, even though I can't graduate with university honors, I.E. cum laude, summa cum laude, magna cum laude, etc. i CAN graduate as a member of Alpha Kappa Delta, and i will still wear an honors cord. I can't graduate with university honors because my GPA isnt quite high enough. I have a 3.402 or something like that for overall GPA, and cum laude requires 3.5 overall GPA.So, i cant gradate with university honors... but i'm a lifetime member of AKD!!! So, i am still graduating with honors! Things just couldnt get any better!!
Peace out!
Rob
